Music industry experts are urging Apple Music to make it easier for people to get the kind of personalized content that makes them more engaged.
In a note to customers, Apple said that it has taken steps to help people understand how the new “Wants to Be Cool” video series is produced and where they can access it.
“Our team has been working closely with artists to understand their content needs and have been developing an API for content providers to integrate with the new Music app,” Apple said.
“We want you to get it as soon as possible.”
“Wanna Be Cool,” which has already been watched more than 100 million times, is the latest album to be released by the hip-hop artist, who is also known as J.
Cole.
It is produced by the rapper’s longtime collaborator, the rapper-producer J. Gucci Mane, and features his song “Rapper’s Delight.”
The new album is available for streaming on Apple Music.
The music industry is also looking for better ways to help creators reach out to audiences.
“Music fans are the most engaged consumers and we’re increasingly using music as a marketing tool to engage our customers,” said Scott Pomerantz, senior director of digital marketing at the Recording Industry Association of America.
“When you combine that with the need to reach more people through the digital platforms, we believe we have an opportunity to get better at delivering content to a wider audience.”
Apple Music is set to debut on the iPhone on September 30.
