When I was younger I played guitar and was the bandleader.
I had a big sound and I’d sing along to everything.
One day a girl from my school came up to me and asked me what I was playing.
I told her it was a song I had written called Killathenibrarian.
The girl was fascinated and asked if I would like to play her some of it.
It was so beautiful and I couldn’t wait to share it with her.
She said she loved it and invited me to the next concert.
I knew I had to play it.
That night she was so excited, but she was wrong.
She was wrong in that it was written about a young girl, but her words and lyrics were all about the beauty of a young woman, and she wrote her songs to tell those stories.
